Daniel flings the used carton of pizza sauce toward the garbage, watching in dismay as it goes off-course, heading toward Dianna, his coworker.
“Watch out,” he says, just as she grabs it out of the air.
Dianna laughs. “Watch where you’re throwing stuff, yeah?”
He looks down at the half-made pizza in shame, half-heartedly grabbing a handful of mozzarella to spread over the sauce. Daniel curses himself as he spreads the first layer of the thick, greasy shreds. What an idiot he was, asking to work in the kitchen. There is nothing he hates more than cooking. But there’s also nothing he likes less than delivering pizza to his ex, especially when he still has feelings for said ex.
